When I retired twenty years ago, I was exploring opportunities to keep myself occupied. Although I had no idea if I could draw or paint, I joined an art school, and found I liked what I was doing. I started with landscape and still life painting in oil on canvas. I did some religious paintings like the Last Supper, the Tabernacle and Christ’s ascension. These were done for family and friends. I have had shows in church halls and community centers. I have also participated in the Yonge Street Art Walk. I have found painting to be relaxing as well as opening opportunities to meet other artists.
